Vitamin C For Fabulous Skin

Since we’re recently moved our office to Los Angeles and there are oranges, lemons and grapefruits on almost every tree around us, we thought a story on the benefits of Vitamin C would be appropriate. Our newest contributor, Lisa Liguori, founder of Simple Beauty Minerals, breaks it down for us. – Todra
You want to promote smooth, supple skin? To prevent pre-mature or unnecessary skin wrinkling? Take extra Vitamin C.
Skin Aging
Simply put, vitamin C offers protection against skin wrinkling.
Ugh. There is that word. Wrinkling. As a woman over 50 (just) I am ultra sensitive to that word.
We are going to age, and that is OKAY, as with aging brings the wisdom of experience. I’m good with wisdom.
We don’t need to wrinkle prematurely and excessively. I am not OKAY with too much of that, are you?
So, what’s a girl to do?
Get yourself some extra protection.
Extra Vitamin C
Vitamin C is rich in anti-oxidants, which protect against damaging free radicals, toxic chemicals and cigarette smoke, all of which age your skin faster and more dramatically than need be.
This is so good! If, by taking extra vitamin C, we can have protection from the early onset of skin wrinkling, and perhaps even the potential to eliminate excessive facial lines overall, I say we go for it.
Inside Out
Vitamin C works on your cells from the inside out.
*A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition examined links between nutrient intakes and skin aging in 4.025 women aged 40-74. It found that higher vitamin C intakes were associated with a lower likelihood of a wrinkled appearance, dryness of the skin, and a better skin-aging appearance.
Let’s give a hand to vitamin C!
Vitamin C is the safest and most effective nutrient to supplement with. You will want to choose a non-acidic buffered form to protect sensitive tummies.
